Practice Staff
The Practice Manager
Tracey Jenkins is our practice manager and she is responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice. She will be able to help you with any administrative or non-medical aspects of the service that we provide.
The Receptionists
The reception staff will make routine and emergency appointments for you to see the doctor and nurse. They may sometimes need to ask you questions about the type of appointment you need to ensure that you are booked into the correct clinic. They will treat any information they are given in the strictest confidence.
The Administration Team
There are many "behind the scenes" jobs carried out by administrative staff, including the processing of all your forms and registration papers, typing hospital referral letters and keeping both your computer and paper records accurate.
The Practice Nurses
There are four practice nurses. General clinic appointments are available from 8.30am - 12 noon and 4.00 - 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
The nurses also run specialised clinics throughout the week. These include: Well Woman, Contraception and Heart Disease Prevention, Stop Smoking Clinic, Asthma, Diabetes, Baby Immunisation and Cryotherapy (once a month).
The practice nurses are also available to give advice on general health concerns and travel advice during the emergency telephone triage sessions, including emergency contraceptive advice.
The Health Visitors
We have a small team of health visitors associated with the practice. Who you see will depend on the exact area in which you live. They assess the development of pre-school children and advise parents, including expectant mothers, on child care issues. They can be contacted during the day on 020 8363 4952. A health visitor can be contacted at night via Chase Farm Hospital on 0845 111 4000.
The District Nurses
We have a small team of district nurses: Marcina, Adi, Natasha, Leena and Doris. The district nurses can be contacted on 020 8363 8518 during the day and on 0845 111 4000 after 5.00pm.
The Midwife
The practice midwife is Eileen Kilmartin RGN, NNEB SCN who shares both antenatal and postnatal care with the doctor. She holds antenatal clinics at the surgery between 1.30 and 3.15pm twice a week. The midwife also works at the GP Unit where she delivers babies and visits all mothers after the birth of their babies. She can be contacted at the GP Unit at Chase Farm on 0845 111 4000.
Phlebotomy
A team of phlebotomists works in the practice. They complete blood tests for elderly / frail / fasting patients after referral from a doctor/nurse practitioner.
GP and Practice Nurse Training
The practice is approved for the training of GPs and practice nurses. Any doctor receiving training at the practice is already qualified with extensive experience in hospital work. The doctors training to be GPs usually work with us for one year and deal with all aspects of your medical care.
Occasionally medical students or student nurses gaining their community experience, work with the doctors and practice nurses. The receptionist will tell you if a student is working with the doctor or nurse. Please inform the receptionist if you do not wish the student to be present during your consultation.
Zero Tolerance to violence or the threat of violence
The whole health service in Enfield has agreed a policy that we will not tolerate violence or the threat of violence towards any member of staff or anyone else in our premises. Should a patient be violent or abusive to any member of the practice team on the practice premises or other persons working in collaboration with our team, we reserve the right to remove the patient from the practice list with immediate effect. Alternative arrangements for consultations and treatment are available for patients excluded from a GP's surgery.
